Based on an article in Yomiuri Shinbun No. 91 reporting that a 16 year-old-boy and a 12-year-old girl committed an "indiscretion" (fugi), and in March 1875 the girl gave birth to a baby.

The mother and baby know what to do. The father is looking on as though to say, "Hey, look at me. I had something to do with this too." (WW)
